Nice use of the wall to split the image. there is an American photographer named Eugene Richards who does this. I think the technique a lot, but I never think to do it. This is also a good example of a camera's difficulty picking the right exposure in a high contrast situation. The exposure is perfect on the right but the highlights are a little blown out on the left side of the image. It's hard to get good shadow and highlight detail in the same shot. Still a very good image.
